Did you know the word “Halloween” is directly derived from one of the Medieval celebrations All Saints’ Day? In Old English, All Hallows refers to “the feast of the saints”. Therefore, Halloween, which was first documented in the 18th century, is in fact, a Scottish variant which refers to All-Hallows-Even (evening).
