Wheesht by Susan Briggs

Shug the Dug has a lovely family who love him but who don’t appreciate his singing. Shug thinks he’s a fantoosh singer and likes to sing everywhere – arrooorooorooo. One night they put him in the garden in the hope that he’ll play with his toys and ‘haud his wheesht.’ But poor Shug doesn’t know what that means and sets off to find out. This is a delightful story in Scots from the award winning writer Susi Briggs. Great to read with your wee ones who will want to join in with Shug’s wonderful singing.
