Fife Community Bookshop is a bookshop and community
hub. Based on the Leven High Street the Bookshop is a place to make
friends, browse books and purchase second hand books at very affordable
prices.
Fife Community Bookshop wants to help locals out during one of the
toughest financial climates to date and are catering to everyone's reading
pleasures with genres including children's novels, fiction, and history
books. Fife Community Bookshop offers great value for money, selling
new books and second-hand books, DVDs, Vinyl records, Jigsaws, Diaries
etc. The bookshop collects and takes donated books, DVDs and Vinyl
records.Special editions or very expensive to produce books are individually priced but still remain better value than you could pay elsewhere.
Like many community groups the Fife Community Bookshop needs more
people involved to make it sustainable. Without more community
involvement there is a very real danger the Shop could close.
Fife Community Bookshop needs some interested individuals to explore
& fund projects in local history
• Deliver new or used books to elderly & disabled people in Levenmouth
• Run book clubs for various genres in store or locally
• Support World Book Day & encourage& fund projects in local history
We are setting the Bookshop up as a Charity which would need individuals who are interested in becoming a Trustee. Full support and advice would be given to any potential new Trustee. Any new charity would be run as not for profit and
would work closely with other local community groups and charities.
A new Charity would have great potential. For example -
The bookshop could train & give work experience to disabled, younor unemployed in bookselling & publishing with practical experience & gain skills from industry professionals including writers, publishers, editors, graphic designers, proof-readers & illustrators.
The Bookshop could start publishing books to support local authors
The Bookshop can promote local book festivals
