View full detailsOne of the greatest joys of entering into a bookstore is looking at used second hand books, going through the different sections and getting a sense for just how many books there are for the reading. Not being confined to one particular aisle gives you the feeling of being an adventurer, going through different realms in search of something lost but not entirely forgotten. Perhaps you’ll finger the spines until you find exactly what it was you were looking for.
Although East Neuk Books is an online store, we pride ourselves in being able to replicate this exact, wistful experience. While you can approach each of the different sections on their own, we also have a page full of various Scottish books for the taking. Mixed in of course with a number of other classics from around the British Isles, you’ll find here classics such as the Chronicles of Narnia mixed in with accounts of Ewan McGregor’s motorcycle memoirs, or texts on 19th century Scotland mingling with A.S. Byatt’s profoundly moving fiction.
No matter what your taste are, there’s always something to be had when drawn out from the great wealth of world (and Scottish!) literature. Here at Kingdom Books, we want to draw attention to how these interminglings and intersections produce some of the best thinking and the best art the world has ever seen. We hope that, by wandering through this section, you’ll start making some of these connections for yourselves. We like to think of Scotland as occupying a special place in the world, and its literature doubly so. And so by placing the very best all in one spot, mixed in as it were, we hope that you find something that speaks to you personally and deeply.
East Neuk Books is a store with a twist – we may exist on the internet, but we put love in all that we do. This is what makes us one of the best places to buy various books online, and we know that you’ll agree. Enjoy your next great read!
